Our History

History of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Temecula

St. Catherine of Alexandria, Temecula, began as a Mission church of San Jacinto, Lake Elsinore, and Pala in 1910. It became a parish of the Diocese of San Bernardino in 1979. The church was relocated from Front Street in Old Town Temecula to its present location on Santiago and C Street in 1990. Since 1990, there have been many building projects to grow the current campus to increase the areas used for worship, religious formation, and meeting spaces for ministries and organizations.

The vision of St. Catherine’s Parish, as a Christian faith community, involves a commitment to bring hope and the Word of the Gospel to our family, friends, and the surrounding community. As the family of God, we strive to nurture our youth, celebrate our diversity, and reach out to our neighbors through love, kindness, and understanding thereby, promoting the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
